Seeking the name of a Scandinavian furniture manufacturer whose name begins with the letter “E”?
Saw their commercial on cable one night, but cant remember their name. They make ergonomic sofas and chairs, mostly in leather, and pride themselves on how comfortable their products are, with lumbar supports and head rests, etc.
Your looking for Ekornes, makers of the “Stressless” chair. It is pronounced /eh core ness/; not /e corns/.
They are made in Norway and carry the typical Scandinavian contemporary design. Ekornes makes a very good product and carries a premium price. They remind me of Tempur-pedic bedding: quality product, lots of talking points, super high price. Just looking at the product, you wouldn’t give it a second thought but a good salesperson would be able to sell you one for every room of your house.
And like Tempur-pedic, there are plenty of alternatives. I have a similar looking chair in my store from Mac Motion that runs $699. Is it just as good? No. But you could go through at least 3 of them before you would pay as much as 1 Stressless chair.
If you can afford Ekornes, go for it. I’ve never regretted buying something nice that I liked. But there are lower priced alternatives that you may like just as well.
Find your local dealer at the web site below. If you want to be happy with your purchase do not 1) buy from someone outside your local area just because they are slightly cheaper/avoiding taxes and 2) dive for the bottom and buy the absolute cheapest crap copy ($199) you can find.
